APHRODITE

A few thoughts from the artist.

When I painted Aphrodite, I wanted to show a calm and beautiful moment, somewhere between the sea and the sky. The scene is peaceful, almost like a dream. The sea foam slowly turns into cloud, making it hard to tell where the ocean ends and the sky begins. I imagined this could be the moment Aphrodite was born, as the myth says she came from the sea foam. To me, it felt like this was how it must have looked—soft, bright, and full of quiet energy.

I used mostly white tones because I wanted to create a clean and pure feeling. The white brings a different kind of emotion—something light and spiritual. It’s not cold or empty, but full of life and meaning. I didn’t just want to show a goddess from mythology; I wanted to share how I see that story in my mind. Aphrodite’s birth, for me, is something peaceful and powerful, and I tried to express that with softness, light, and simplicity.

Aphrodite is also available as a giclee limited edition canvas print.
