"the Collector" (also "you", "your") refers to any person browsing, purchasing, or considering the purchase of artwork through this website.
By using this website and placing an order, the Collector agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, together with the Returns Policy, Shipping Information and Privacy Policy.
1. Artist Information

VAT / Tax ID: 057805102
Email: marinasyntelis@gmail.com
2. Originality and Availability
All artworks available on this website are original, one-of-a-kind and handmade by the Artist. Each piece is subject to availability and may become unavailable without prior notice.
3. Artwork Imperfections
Due to the handmade nature of the artworks and the traditional, self-made mediums utilized, minor textural variations or natural characteristics of the surface may occur. These are an inherent, valuable part of the fine art creative process and are not considered defects.
4. Product Images & Descriptions
Every effort is made to represent each piece as accurately as possible through high-resolution photography and detailed descriptions. However, please note that colors and tonal depths may vary slightly depending on the Collector's individual screen calibration and lighting environment.
5. Right to Request an Online Viewing
To ensure absolute satisfaction and confidence before finalizing a purchase, the Collector has the right to request a live online viewing of any artwork. Upon request, a private digital meeting can be scheduled, allowing the Collector to examine the painting's textures, colors, scale, and details under natural light conditions. Collectors are highly encouraged to utilize this service prior to checkout.
6. Prices & Payment
Prices are listed in EUR and include VAT.
Import duties, taxes, or customs fees imposed by non-EU destination countries are not included and remain the sole responsibility of the Collector.
Shipping is free of charge for all original artworks.
7. Certificate for Export (Greek Law Requirement)
In accordance with Greek cultural heritage laws, all original artworks must be officially approved for export by the National Gallery of Greece before international dispatch. This legal process may delay dispatch by up to one week or more. Tracking details will be provided immediately upon courier pickup.
8. Shipping & Delivery
Orders are shipped exclusively via DHL Express, with tracking provided by email. Full detail on packaging methods and delivery timeframes is set out in the Shipping Information page. The Artist is not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance, local postal logistics, or force majeure events.
9. Original Paintings on Display at The Papillon Gallery (UK)
Some original artworks are physically located at The Papillon Gallery in the United Kingdom. If purchased by an EU-based Collector, these pieces may be routed back to Greece for formal certification or shipped directly, subject to international customs processing post-Brexit. Any applicable import VAT or cross-border customs handling fees remain entirely the Collector's responsibility.
10. Limited Edition Giclée Prints
Limited edition Giclée prints are published and fulfilled exclusively through The Papillon Gallery (UK). Purchases are processed securely via external redirection to the gallery's platform and are subject to the fulfillment and return terms of The Papillon Gallery.
11. Right of Withdrawal, Returns & Exemptions
If the Collector is an EU resident, the Collector has a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from their purchase. Full details of this right, how to exercise it, return shipping requirements, and how any diminished value is assessed are set out in the Return Policy.
This right does not extend to custom commissions and personalized pieces, or to Collectors located outside the EU — see the Returns Policy for full detail.
12. Damaged or Defective Items
If an artwork arrives damaged due to transit, the Collector must document the damage immediately and contact the Artist within 5 days of delivery so an insurance claim can be filed with the courier. Full detail is set out in the Return Policy. The Collector's statutory legal warranty rights remain fully unaffected.
13. Copyright & Intellectual Property
The Artist retains full, exclusive copyright and intellectual property rights to all original artworks and digital content on this website, even after a physical sale. The purchase of a physical canvas or paper sketch does not transfer any reproduction rights. The Collector may not copy, reproduce, print, distribute, or digitally exploit any artwork or website content for commercial purposes without prior explicit written consent from the Artist.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Greece. If you are an EU resident, this does not affect your rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, and you may bring legal proceedings either before the courts of Greece or the courts of your home country. For all collectors outside the EU, any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the local courts of Greece.
If you are an EU resident and a dispute cannot be resolved directly with us, you may access the European Commission's register of national dispute resolution bodies at https://consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu/dispute-resolution-bodies. We are not obligated to, and do not commit to, participating in formal consumer arbitration proceedings. For all collectors worldwide, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any issues directly through good-faith communication before initiating formal legal action.
For business-to-business transactions, the courts of Athens, Greece shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
