Shipping Information

Defined terms used on this page ("the Artist", "the Collector") have the meanings set out in the Terms & Conditions.

1. Courier & Tracking

Orders are shipped exclusively via DHL Express. A tracking number is emailed to the Collector as soon as the artwork is collected for dispatch.

2. Export Certification (Greek Law)

Original artworks require official export approval from the National Gallery of Greece before they can leave the country (see the Terms & Conditions). This is a legal requirement the Artist can't expedite, and it can add up to a week or more to dispatch time. The Collector will always be notified if this is affecting their order.

3. How The Artwork Is Packaged

Paintings larger than 80 × 80 cm: shipped rolled in a heavy-duty reinforced tube, wrapped in acid-free glassine paper, with a secure archival clear-view section at the end of the roll so the Collector can check the texture and layers without unrolling it.
Smaller paintings: shipped flat, mounted on their original wooden stretcher bars, inside sturdy custom-built carton boxes.
Oil sketches on paper: packaged flat inside a crystal-clear archival, acid-free sleeve, cushioned between structural cardboard, and shipped in a reinforced envelope.

4. Estimated Delivery Times

Artworks are typically dispatched within 3 -7 business days of export approval, with delivery taking a further 3 -7 business days depending on destination.

5. Availability & International Shipping (Works held in the UK)

Some original artworks are physically held at The Papillon Gallery in the United Kingdom. Shipping terms for these pieces depend on the Collector’s location:

• For Collectors within the European Union (EU): To ensure you do not face any import VAT, customs handling fees, or Brexit-related duties, the artwork will first be safely returned to our studio in Greece and then shipped directly to you from within the EU. Please note that this consolidated routing will introduce an additional delivery delay of approximately 2 - 3 weeks.

• For Collectors outside the EU (e.g., US, Worldwide): The artwork may be shipped directly from the United Kingdom to your destination to minimize transit time. Any local import taxes, customs duties, or handling fees imposed by your country remain the Collector's responsibility.

6. Customs, Duties & Import VAT

For deliveries outside Greece, any import duties, VAT, or customs fees charged by the destination country are not included in the artwork price and remain the Collector's responsibility.
