This small oil painting was my way of capturing a single, powerful moment—a wave crashing with full force, just before it collapses. I’ve always been fascinated by the energy and detail in moving water. When I painted this, I wanted to freeze that split second when the wave curls and bursts, full of texture, light, and motion. I focused on the contrast between the dark blue center and the white, foamy spray flying in all directions.

Even though it’s a small piece, it took a lot of time and patience. I worked in layers, building up the depth of the water and the brightness of the foam. It felt like painting something alive. Every little splash and shadow mattered. For me, this painting is about that mix of strength and fragility. The ocean showing its wild beauty in a single crash.
