"A Thousand Prayers" is a painting completed during the 2020 opandemic and it is ery much influenced by my emotional state at the time

I wanted to capture a range of emotions on one canvas - from crashing waves to calm waters. This symbolizes the different reactions people have when faced with a threat. The waves in the painting transform into clouds, reaching towards heaven. Each wave represents a prayer, as ultimately, we all just want to feel safe. We all have the need to pray, no matter how differently we may react.
I aimed to put many emotions on the same canvas. Crashing waves and calmer waters. It could be the emotions of every individual or the different reactions of people trying to cope with the threat. Either way, the waves become clouds, trying to reach heaven.

Each wave represents a prayer, as ultimately, we all just want to feel safe. We all have the need to pray, no matter how differently we may react.
