In The Storm 2 was a personal challenge to see if I could return to the same idea with In The Storm I and create something equally powerful without repeating myself. The concept of the wave as a mountain still fascinated me, but this time I approached it with a different energy. I wasn’t just trying to match the first painting; I wanted to explore new variations in movement, texture, and emotion while staying true to the original spirit. The wave still rises with force, but in this version, the rhythm shifts and the details take on a new life of their own.

I focused on how light behaves within the storm—how it catches on the spray, flickers across the surface, and disappears into shadow. The painting became a study in contrast and control, with the wave once again acting like a living form, just as unpredictable and wild. In The Storm 2 feels like a sibling to the first piece: closely related, but distinct in personality. It’s not just a continuation, but a deeper conversation with the same powerful idea.
