LET GO

A few thoughts from the artist.

LET GO is about a quiet moment that feels like it exists outside of time. When we’re underwater, sounds fade, gravity disappears, and we lose track of direction. I painted this piece to capture that feeling—when we’re completely alone and don’t even care if we’re floating up or sinking down. The arm in the painting could be asking for help, or it might just be relaxed and free. That uncertainty is part of the story.

The swimming pool water changes everything we see. It distorts shapes and blurs the line between what’s real and what’s imagined. A figure becomes an abstract form, not because it’s unreal, but because water changes how we see it—just like emotions can. LET GO is about that transformation. It’s about how letting go can feel scary, peaceful, or both at the same time.
