Rough Sea II was probably my first real attempt to paint a bright, clear, crashing wave. I was especially inspired by the way the light passed through the water, giving it a glowing, see-through quality. Capturing that feeling on canvas was both exciting and challenging. I spent a lot of time working on the movement and energy of the wave, trying to show its power while also keeping a sense of light and beauty.

This painting made me realize how much I enjoy exploring the theme of the sea. There is so much more to discover. Every wave is different, and the ocean has endless moods and colors. Rough Sea II opened a door for me into the world of seascapes. It showed me that I could keep pushing myself to try new things, and that the ocean would always give me fresh ideas and inspiration.
