THE EYE
A few thoughts from the artist.
I have always been fascinated by the spiral. It’s such a perfect, natural shape—strong and flowing at the same time. I often see this form in the ocean, especially in the rolling waves that crash and curl with such power. That’s what first inspired me to paint The Eye.
In this piece, I wanted to explore the contrast between light and dark. The wave holds both softness and strength. The bright spray and the deep, dark water are tied together by the spiral motion. It feels like movement frozen in time, full of energy and mystery.
When I finished the painting, I looked at the center and saw something more. It looked like an eye, watching still and full of meaning. That was the moment I realized that the painting wasn’t just a wave. It had become The Eye, a symbol of something deeper and more mystical.
